fog light indicator issue

hi,

I've a problem with my fog light indicator in the central cluster (next to the clock:

-with the headlight switched off, the fog light indicator is half lit (and the clock is also half lit)

-with the headlight switched on, the fog light indicator is fully lit (and the clock is not lit at all)

-with the headlight switched on and the fog light switched on, the fog light indicator is not lit at all (and the clock is fully lit)

i suppose it's a relay in the headlight switch unit that is dead, could it be something else ?

so nobody as any idea ? also i can leave the car without having it running for more than three weeks (even two weeks is tricky) otherwise the battery is drained and the car wont start (and i'll flood the engine...). I suspect that having a shortcut because of a faulty relay could be a reason of the electricity drain...

Can you take a pic? Never seen a fog light indicator on one.

The idiot light cluster is known for cold solder joint issues (they crack and you get poor connection). Any other issues with the cluster?

They should all turn on with ignition on (engine off). Parking brake only lights up if you have the parking brake on. I believe one or two go out after a few seconds.

i'll try to remember to get you a picture.

I have all the light coming on at the start.

Then you have the light for ther parking brake, for the battery (because the alternator is not run) and maybe another one

the fog light is a orange square with the fog light icon in the center in black (like the one on the transmission tunel switch).

edit : i've checked pictures online, my car is a european one. Apparently it's not the same icon as the ones you have on american ones.
I'll try to take a picture of it fully lit

Most likely the solder joints on the circuit board behind the warning light assembly. The current will follow the path of least resistance and sometimes some areas will get dim, others bright.

On another note, maybe you can post what the light to the left of the battery means. And I presume the one above I'm asking is a converter overheat light?

left to the battery is a overheating water something or maybe pressure issue. anyway it shows the radiator (i have had it once lit when i was on my way to bring it to the workshop before doing the rebuilt. I suppose it was the probe that was faulty).
From the wiring diagram, i'd say it's the "add coolant" light, so i suppose it's just a water level warning

the one above the battery, i have no idea. i never have had it. i suppose it could be something about a clogged catalyst maybe, but I don't have any catalyst, since a long time.
Again from the wiring diagram i suppose it's "over heat ex system", so there might be a sensor that check on the exhaust temperature.

I'll investigate a bit more on how to fix those solder joints.
