NV FMIC Setup

I want pics of people with there fmic setups? Or is there a thread on how to install fmic setup step by step? And whats the best setup you can buy? Also what size should you buy on piping and intercooler core size and overall size for best results? And last but not least how good are ebay intercoolers and whats recommended if so for a good budget?

The intercooler you choose if based on the power levels you want.

You can buy the Greddy kit brand new for less than 1k. Shouldn't be too hard to install.

Generally the kits come with instructions on how to install them, there's not much to it though. Best setup you can buy... v-mount intercooler ! not sure on that question, there are a lot of setups out there and all unique in their own way.

Piping is usually 2.5" diameter although ppl running the massive turbos are going larger. Core size, for an FC, ideally should be 600 mm x 300 mm x 76 mm.

yeah its going on a stock turbo on a greddy manifold and 50mm wastegate on a t2 bridgeported motor.

And why v mount intercooler?

How much power will I receive on that setup just want to daily drive whats max I should boost?

V-mounts help when you have to much heat exangers to fit in the engine bay I believe.

As for daily driving a bridge isn't ideal but it should still be drivable. Say goodbye to your idle and gas economy though. I would suggest using a boost controller to keep very low boost (you'll rarely see any under normal conditions anyway) until you want more. At the track for example.

Wait... what? stock turbo with external waste gate? this is new to me... plz explain

And why v mount intercooler?
Vmount requires considerably less piping. Less piping = less internal volume. Boost will come on quick and be more responsive. It also allows un-interrupted flow of air onto the radiator... better cooling!

Can't be sure on the power you will be making (as an estimation I'd say maybe 220rwKw - that's including intercooler), you'd have to get the car on a dyno. Expect between 20 - 30 kW power gain! just by adding an intercooler.

IMO I'd stay away from a bridge ported daily driver, I mean it would be totally awesome but in reality it's just so impractical Go race extend port

As for max boost pressure, generally never take it above 12psi when running a stock turbo.

This is the setup that i am runnin.. It is a universal kit i picked up... it is nothin fantastic like maybe a big name brand but it works. There is alot of cutting and fitting of pipes tho..... it is by NO means a "bolt in" setup!!! https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...5&d=1171773133

There are three things wrong with this statement:

1. Greddy makes a manifold that will mount the stock turbo? I was not aware.
2. 50MM wastegate is way too large for the stock turbo.
3. The stock turbo is WAY too small for a bridgeported car.

Well i feel that it depends very much on your setup. Depending on the setup you have you can for sure benefit from a front mount, maybe thats just me. If someone is worried about cash and time then a 7 is not the car to own!!
