FMIC Question.

Here is my situation.

I just bought a tii parts car, which is gone as well as my car to get it swapped in.

So i will have a s5 with a tii motor in it.

I sold the TII hood as i wanted to go front mount, without checking what it would cost to run the pipes.

Alot of shops around here want a TON to pipe it.

Are there any options i can do myself until i have the $$ to get it done?

buy some 180 degree mandrel bends go to your local meineke were they charge 60 bux a hour for the meg welder, have them fab it up, it took them 1 hour to do my car, i had to buy 3 180 bends, even call meineke and check if they have or can order you the bends, after there done go home take the pipes off and polish them up ( a compressor will help alot)and they will look awesome, you also might have to grind the welds down a little

There's a reason why kits cost so much...

Learn how to weld.
Even MIG welding isn't that bad.
Rent the MIG welder.

Use exhaust pipe to make your piping.

This is probably the cheapest way to get it done.

The alternate route to taking the car and everything else in is to fabricate your pipe, get all the bends right and the edges of the pipe smooth so that they mate up correctly (may take some grinding/sanding) and then wrap masking tape really tight around the seam with the sections in exactly the position you want it. THen the welder can just cut a small section of the tape off and tack the pipe together before removing the rest of the tape to weld it completely. This is what i do in my shop.

I ran into theis problem as well with my FMIC. I wanted to go with aluminum pipe, but even with my buddy mandrel bending the pipe, it was retarded expensive, so i went with mandrel bent exhaust tubing.

After its all welded, I'm taking it to a local powder coater for some chrome effect powder!
