Well I have one on my car that is 26in 'across' x 5in 'heigh' x 2 1/4in thick. (not including end tanks)

Fits in the whole front bar _perfectly_! No need to cut anything(except for intercooler pipping)

I'm getting some pics taken in the next few days, I might post some of it.

nice I was evetually going to ask that........How much did you pay for your setup? Is it better to buy a kit, or get a custom core and endtanks and then buy a piping kit?

I don't think you can mount a FMIC without at least cutting for the pipeing.

I know.....but where can I get the piping at a reasonable price? I was also looking at a V-mount but I dont really know the benefits.......and I don't know where to get the mounting brackets etc......

v mount= very short pipes in/out of intercooler=short distance from turbo-->intake=super throttle response and boost pickup. pretty much a necessity since the IC is under the hood.

From what i have seen and heard you would need a new hood that has reversed scoops so that the air would be able to go through the intercooler.

Who me? I didn't pay anything for it it's called being in the right place at the right time

I did pay $150 for some shiny stainless steel pipping though.

Personally I wouldn't buy a kit because I don't mind making stuff fit right myself...

and Icemark is right you will need to cut holes for pipping if your going FMIC..

You could relocate the radiator or replace it with a smaller (but more efficient) radiator, mount the intercooler in the space below the hood latch, and then run the intercooler piping over or around the radiator.

However, a large intercooler is going to requre some type of cutting to fit the plumbing, and it is going to require a lot of cutting if it is located in the bumper like the poorly-designed GReddy kits. I have a Spearco 2-248 (3.5 x 15.6 x 20" core + approx 3" end tanks) in my 20B FC, and it fits with the hood latch removed (hood pins required), but cutting is required for the plumbing. A smaller intercooler that fits under the hood latch would be fine for a 13BT. I recommend making a cardboard mock-up to test-fit anything that you THINK may fit for your application before you spend the big bucks on an intercooler.

Other options to not cutting anything would include a horizontal mount behind the radiator, a vertical mount behind the radiator, V-mount in conjunction with the radiator, a stock mount intercooler, or an air/liquid intercooler.

My FMIC (frame rail tag does not apply to this post). A similar intercooler with end tanks on the top and bottom instead of the sides would have probably been better, but there was simply no way to do this with a 20B. However, I would have probably gone this route with a 13B, or possibly a horizontal mount with a vented hood.

u wouldnt need a reverse cowl hood, just some customization that routes the air to the intercooler, like the signal auto silvias have. theres a nice pic of it in the super street mag a few months back
