Are flywheels interchangable

Can I swap a Turbo2 flywheel on an NA or vica versa if i get the corresponding drivetrain. I really need to put an NA flywheel on a T2 block cause i dont have the T2 drivetrain. - Gabe

Yes,if it is from the same year(more or less). So an 86-88 N/A MT flywheel will fit on an 87-88 TII motor.Similarly 89-91 N/A flywheel is OK on a 89-91 TII.
Of course the bolt pattern is the same on all,but the counter weight is different as noted above.

the flywheels are different between the NA and T2.

The T2 flywheel is a larger diameter and is heavier.

The NA flywheel will bolt on however, but you'll need to use the NA bell housing, clutch, starter, and tranny.

Read this page from Mazdatrix http://www.mazdatrix.com/b5.htm I wrote a post just a few minutes ago. In other words there seem to be limitations as to the combination.

FOXX, The way I read http://www.mazdatrix.com/b5.htm your combination would violate their rule because your rotors, 86 vs 91. Might read the url and see what you think.

Ok let me clear things up I have an 86 base with corresponding drivetrain i have an 87 t2 block that has been ported and is used as a regular NA motor, I dont have the t2 drivetrain or needed stuff so i want to switch the flywheels and use my NA drivetrain. What issues should i worry about. -Gabe

I dont know what rotors are in it I pulled it out of a red 87 gxl. Ive posted before about how to find out what rotors are in the block and etc. but to no help. Now i dont care i just want to switch flywheels and worry about drivetrain later. - Gabe
