flywheel without 6 nuts! (pic included)

i am taking out my flywheel for changing the pilot bearing.
from other people's pictures and FSM, i see that the flywheels have 6 nuts and the BIG center 54mm nut holding the flywheel

but mine only has that big nut... is that normal? or aftermarket?

from my experiences, the ones with 6 nuts are usually like lighter flywheels or automatic ones. the flywheel on my turbo was exactly like that, and it was a manual tranny.

I dunno where you got the 6 nuts idea, maybe the (counterweight?) plate for automatics or something.. There's six bolt holes on the flywheel to hold the pressure plate down, but that's it. You have your one big-***'d nut, and 6 bolt holes. Looks normal to me

The lightsteel flywheels have 6 holes in the outer-center to bolt the flywheel to the counterweight. The big nut does not touch the flywheel on the lightsteel flywheel, the bignut just holds onto the counterweight.

Correct, and since the counterweight is built in on the 5sp stock flywheels, it's just held in by the massive nut, rather than bolted to the counterweight like lightweight or the automatics.
