I have an 88 gxl. Put a tll motor in it. runs great. But when you go to start it will flood it self out unless you hit the gas just right to get it to start if not you got to put the fuse start blow gas out and do it again. What could cause that.Plus wont idle at all besides in the moring when you get it started. Thanks for the help.

under the dash next to the streeering column there is a 6pin connector. one half is yellow on the bottom half there are like 5wires coming out. in the middle there is a black wire with a white stripe. cut it. Then go to the hardware store and get a 2post toggle switch. wire this in and when its on, the fuel pump has power. when its off, the fuel pump doesnt. whenever your ready to start the car, switch it off, let the car die(about 5seconds or less) then kill the ignition. Mount this switch on the back off the vent under there. there is already one screw there and its the perfect place for it.
If you dont want to try this because it sounds complicated and/or I didnt post any pics, dont worry, if youve ever wired anything this is cake. Ive had my car for less than 2 days, have already done this and it works perfectly.

Thumbs up

I agree this is defenitely the best way to fix the flooding problem. I myself have done this and have fix three other friends cars the same way.
