NC flooding

I am a new member and would appreciate any advice. I am sure there is some information about this posted before but I have been unable to find any.
I have a 1989 RX7 and have owned it for about 10 years. Ever since I have owned the car I have had flooding problems with it.
I always wait until the temp reaches normal operating before driving it.
When you shut the car down after driving it is hard to start as it is flooded.
I read once that the computer thinks the car is cold and sends more fuel.
I have installed a toggle switch under the dash to turn off the power to the fuel
pump when this happens and helps somewhat but does not cure my problem.
Does anyone know the cause and possible cure for this?
Thank you very much.

leaky injectors and low compression are two main culprits

you shouldn't need a toggle switch for an '89. when you go 30% or more on the throttle during cranking it cuts fuel automatically in S5 cars.

with flooding issues, the easiest first step is to just do a compression test of the engine.
