flooded engine causes check engine light?
so ive been working on a heater core issue, sealed it all up and its stopped leaking so i went to take it around the neighborhood and i noticed when it started up it didnt sound right, it idled just under the 1000s but i let it run and noticed my check engine light on.. wasnt sure why but i took it down the driveway anyways, got halfway into the street and she was struggling, went to bring it back up the driveway and it cut off. tried to crank it didnt start, 3 more times..nothin. i assumed the engine got flooded cause the previous owner put 550s in it and said it runs rich... its a streetported s5 for reference and previous owner told me to use marine oil(im guessing cause of the premix it has).. i didnt bother to unflood it but im concerned about the whole check engine scenario...im buying some 460cc injectors to put on it once i find some and im wondering if there will be any consequence if i dont use the marine oil?
help?! suggestions?!

side note: i noticed one of the secondary injector wires was a little frayed, i wrapped some electrical tape around it cause i dont know/have a soldering piece..im thinking that is the cause
