if you've got the engine, the want and the know-how, go for it. just don't get all dillusional and be telling yourself it would be cheaper than a new 13b

Hmm every 13b i have found is going to cost around 1200-1500 just to get the motor here... So as long as the drive shaft and cross member dont cost that much i am ok i think... Pretty much everything else is here already.... oh and i will need to upgrade the fuel system...

If he wants to put a LS-1 in his car it is none of anyone else concern. I hate it when other people get all upset with some else does something to there own car that other people dont like. Its his car not urs, there for he has the say in what goes in or out of his car. If he wants to paint his car pick and put a big hello kitty symbol on his car, more power to him cuz its his car. He didnt say hey make a smart *** comment then leave, he said post ideas on what could be wrong and what rout to go about gettin his LS-1 into his car. Game on.

drive shaft cut rebalanced
tranny mounts custom
engine mounts custom
ignition setup
front coil springs, and swaybars

I know that you have the engine Saten, but its gonna cost almost as much to get it back running with a v-8, and thats not counting actually sorting out the handling department. that alone will cost you alot. Diff should hold for a while, but there are alot of other things, thin maybe radiator, and tranny cooler?

yes they are cheap, but a little here, and a little there and next thing ya know its 1500~2500 later ( oh and you already had the engine) so I think if you ask Jimlab, he can give you a better Idea as to what the conversion costs are since thats his area of delight, but forewarned don't ask him in a halfassed manner as he will flame you for the shear joy of watching you squirm.

Those are the key items you'll need for the swap. I bought everything for mine through Granny's Except the radiator. ~$630 for Granny's components and I bought a $140 Universal GM radiator from Jegs that works just fine. I made custom mounts to hold it in position though.

You will not have to do anything to your suspension. At worst, you'll have to relocate your swaybar down about 1/2". Some V8s require this to clear the harmonic dampner, but my setup did not. The fender to ground clearance did not change any on my swap and it feels lighter and more nimble in the front end.

Those people who keep claiming that the swap makes them handle like crap and push through the turns really need to suck it up and take a ride or drive a swapped car. You'll be amazed at how it handles just lke it did before, if not better.

You obviously have no clue. My 88 TII with a an LS1/T56 weighs 2915 pounds. That is the same as a stock TII. To top to off, the battery is now in the spare tire well so my weight distribution is close to, if not better then stock.

You rotory fans can poo poo all you want on this swap, it's still not going to change the fact that it rocks. Not to mention the fact that most of these swaps are done on cars that have blown engines and are destined for the wrecking yard, if not for our loving attention. So you should all thanks us for keeping more RX7s on the road.

Now let me get an "Amen" my V8 brothers!

Okay this thread is done.

Damm V8 propganda has no place in this second gen section. V8 or other engine conversion information, belongs in the Other engine conversion section.

They have no place here.
