Fixing My Warning buzzer

Ive had my 89 GTUs for 5 months now without a working buzzer. So I finally found the time to fix it. According to my search, I found out that the buzzer is located behind the tach on a circuit board which I have already taken out. My question is which one is the buzzer on the board? The one circled red or the other one circled black (in the pic)?

They both seem to have 3 pins soldered to the board. Those are (+),(-), and what is the purpose of the third one?

The one circled in red seems to have some kind of an adjusting screw. Does anybody know the function of that?

Ok, I ve located the buzzer. Makes much more sense now appearance wise.

So there are 4 soldering points + - C and the last one i dont know what....

If I get a pizzo buzzer from radio shack and solder it to + and - , the buzzer should be working, correct?

Just want to make everything clear so everything would go smoothly.

Why don't you find a good, used unit and just swap them out?
If you want to keep your original OD (i.e. mileage display), can't you just swap that part of the instrument cluster out?
There are always cars being parted out, and instrument clusters are not one of those high-in-demand items that other want.

I think you're asking for trouble just trying to match something Radio Shack has in stock (i.e. wrong voltage? wrong current? wrong impedence?)...

nope its easy, just get a 12V pizzo buzzer and connect it to the - and + dont worry about the C and other one. Good job.

But like I Said, while you are in there you should put a relay and install a shift light (LED) also.. really helps AND I see the LEDs before I can hear the pizzo. (the buzzer has a slight delay) Also it would allow you to mount the pizzo in a different location if you want to hear it better. (if you have a loud exhaust or you race/drift a lot and have a helmet on.

Try out the old buzzer first. Apply 12V, make sure it's the cause of the problem. Then apply 12-14V to the new one to make sure you like the sound, volume, etc.

And yeah, any 12V buzzer will work just fine.
