fixing my sunroof...so far (pictures)

ok so the other day i took down my headliner and started to look at my sunroof. it didnt look like fun. it made a click when i tried to open it and it didnt open... today i just started unbolting things and this is what i came to.

the picture show what i have found so far.

http://www.fortresshalo.com/wlan/gal...rk-In-Progress

one of the cables gear mechanism wrap thing is bent where it meets the motor gear. from trying to open it it just bent these little gear things on the cable. the gear thats on the motor is in good condition, but needs to be cleaned and re greased. I need to free up the cable, or get a new one somehow. let me know if you have any suggestions on what to do about it...

thanks,
matt

ill be adding more photos later in the day as i make progress.

I'm fixing my sunroof this weekend. Was wondering can you remove the guide from the track without removing the interior? Or must you unbolt the track from underneath to remove the guide/link on one side? The link I'm refering to is the piece that attatches to the piece in the guide and tilts before the sunroof opens. Oh here I have a picture. Can I remove the following piece without taking out the headliner. I know this is quite wordy but home you can understand it.

if your sunroof opens up you might be able to. the sunroof itself its only held on by a c-clip on both sides. if you can get the sunroof part out you might be able to figure out the rest. let me know how it goes because i might have to do the same. i need help freeing up the cable so if anyone can help me with that PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

To remove the cable, you'll have to slide the cable all the way back until the two black pieces at the forward end of the cable come out of the track. Then pull the cable forward and it'll slide out of the guide tubes. Pay attention to how those two black pieces go into the track and how they fit into each other. I believe that you have to remove the track in order to get those pieces out. You should be able to straighten the bent cable, as long as the gear/wrap thing on the cable isn't worn down/stripped.

someone should do a write up on exactly how to take the whole thing apart because i couldnt find one and the FSM isnt clear enough. a lot of people would probably appreciate it.

To remove the track, the whole interior headliner and sunroof assembly must be removed?

Matt since you have your whole sunroof assebmly out, can you please take some pictures for me? I'm looking for detailed pictures of how the piece I posted fits into the track. Still deciding if I need to take out the whole assembly. Thanks.

yeah well, this glass moonroof when the sun hits it just right, your top of the skull starts to cook jajajajaja. and its heavy too, so i have to always assist the motor in pushing the glass up to open it. lol today i figured out, hopefully what the stupid water leak was. well after the hurricans, i guess the paint cracked just where the front window seal is at. the black strip, well i put a very light bead of silicon and waited for about 2 hours, then i took a hose and sparyed the roof and window.... and booooooowhooooohhhaaaahhhaaaaaa. its works goddamit. lol now i need a new headliner since in my foul mood i ripped the **** to hell lol

sureshot, didnt you see my car at the jacksonville meet like 1 year ago. i rode up there with the orlando crew, went to some park near a lake i think.

Get some PVC pipe and bypass the TMIC until it warms up at idle then check the TPS. Easy. Or got with an FMIC
