Fixing the clock
Fixing the clock
Like i said, how can i fix the clock? it just doesn't work. I heard you could take it out and re sauder a piece onto it? what cha thinkin tell me, i do have a sauder gun and a good pair of hands
Not quite. You remove the assy from the car and then remove the screws on the back until you expose the circuit board. Then you find where the connector attaches to the assy, and reheat the solder points for the pins that make connection with the plug. The problem is caused by *cold solder joints*. When the job was done the first time the solder was not heated properly and did not flow as it should. Or it could be contamination. I've done three of these units and they all worked again just by reheating the cold solder joints. Easy job. If I did it, anybody can.P.S. You do not add anything, just resolder.
