finally time for a motor.

been cheating on my 7 for a year but i want her back.
where's the best place to buy a motor from?
can i trust ebay sellers, that don't know how to do a proper compression test on a rotary motor and have no warranty?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mazda-RX-7-J...42a63c&vxp=mtr
got the cash right now just wanna make the right choice.
s5 only, has to come with trans, no molested motors i want stock.

edit; at least it seems like hes not doing it right he may be holding down the pin can't tell.

Japan2LA is the only place you will buy from. Nobody else. Period. Say it with me now....

Edit:

Just saw the first compression test, and that is definitely not the way you do a rotary compression test. That is garbage. I don't even need to see the rest.

JDMSource.CA

I have purchased a 1jz from there with absolutely no hiccups. Shipping was even dirt cheap to Hawaii when I lived there. Motor was in great shape as well. I forget the guy in charges' name, but he sent me compression test videos as well. Rotary, you will just have to ask and see what their policies are.

Japan2LA ONLY for used JDM rotaries. Nobody else can apparently be trusted, and I've never seen another one that will 1)do a proper compression test or 2)provide a warranty on rotaries.

There are many reputable shops that can rebuild your engine too, so give that a look too.

The other option is to rebuild it yourself. Check out therotarystore.com . They sell Goopy seals, which seem to be building a good reputation. I've used Atkins rotary for my rebuild with great results.

if u are just looking for a block and tranny ... then just get it from Japan2LA

but if you want an engine that last ... a long time.

then try to get it rebuild at Mazmart in GA, their builder is Rick Engman, ppl in the Rotary world long enough should know who he is.

90% chance they don't have S5 short block in stock. So chances are you still have to source one first, send it to them, get it build, send back to you.

Mr. Engman's skill is almost 2nd to none, he probably build more winning engines than anyone else in the country. It will not be cheap, but you will 100% get something that will last you a long *** time.
