Finally bought a T2

Finally found a T2 again. It's overall in good condition. Bought it from Eric from Mr. Mazda. He said he bought it from a old lady that didn't want it anymore. He said he replaced just replaced the clutch and some other things. Its overall pretty damn clean. Came with stock stereo in working order. First thing I did was put new NGK's plugs in there, put my older stereo in there, installed the S5 tail lights and more to come. I'm going to modify the door panels to accept 6.5 speakers. I'm taking part of the lower door panel from my 90 N/A parts car. Got it for $3500, He put on the pink slip sold for 1000. Just got it registered (passed smog) and insurance til feb. 2004.
First modification I'm going to do is get a boost controller, intake, downpipe, midpipe, and exhaust work done. After that, I'll be putting in a rebuilt engine with a big street port. My future plans are to upgrade the fuel system, throw a T04, front mount innercooler and go Microtech.

So you don't have to pay for more taxes when you register it in california.

hey one of the first mods you should look into, is a walbro fuel pump and s-afc, if you open you exhaust first it could cause very bad detenation and you would sooner or later kiss your engine good-by, but other than that it looks like a great deal, and man is that engine bay clean!

that's not true. opening my exhaust wont mean I will cause detonation. I won't be installing any kind of FCD until fuel is upgraded and I'm going microtech. So I dont want to waste my money on SAFC. and I'm going Blitz SBC iD Boost Controller.

he even worse, when you open you exhaust you'd better get an FCD or kiss your rear rotor good buy, the stock fuel cut is like 8.6 psi and you'll be boosting much higher than that with full exhaust.......if you ask around you will see I'm right, I just don't want to see a good car go bad because the lack of knowleged of the owner

For one, I would not boost to a point where I know I don't have fuel.. I call it letting off the gas ..

I owned a T2 before, actually same year, I'm not one of those people where they put a straight pipe exhaust and FCD and go full boosting.

Do you need a FCD if you upgrade your injectors, get a fuel pump and put a s-afc on it?

well if you wanna to or if you do boost over 8.6 psi you'll hit the ecu fuel cut to the rear rotor, which causes low compresion

sorry if I have a sports car I need to be able to floor it once in a while and trust it won't blow up...

Thanks for the advice. I don't like it if someone says I'm not informed about RX7. I know all about the fuel cut... I believe it's lower than that on the S4's.

so you have to get a fcd unless you get an ecu or a chip of some sort to override it?

I had a GFORCE ECU before that disabled the fuel cut.

yes you need an FCD or Chip if you wanna boost past the fuel cut, yes the fuel cut on the S4's are wierd, mine hit the fuel cut at 6psi, sometimes 5.5psi, and that was with the precat, mid pipe and stock y-pipe and only a cone filter, so I would becarefull, shoot now I boost to 9psi at half throttle in 2nd and 3rd, hard to keep the boost down unless you port your wastegate, the boost controller only rises boost, doesn't lower it.

Sorry if I assumed you didn't know but some poeple on this forum prolly have a brains smaller than a chickens
