PA Few suspension related ?s

Ok, so yesterday I put a new clutch in my 88, and at the same time, wanted to replace my rear diff mount, since the driveshaft and exhaust were out anyway. It turns out the mount is fine, its the tab that it bolts to. The lip on top has either broken or rotted away, allowing the mount to move freely up and down. I put the pinion snubber in anyway because I had to be at work in an hour, thinking that it couldnt hurt at that point. It didn't fix the clunking in the back completely, but it really helped. On my test drive today, i notice a steady thumping from the rear, not loud, but I can feel it. It may possibly be my ball joints (both are GONE!!!) but it feels like its coming from the back of the car. Now... my questions...

1.) Is it worth it to repair the tab on the subframe, or should I just start looking for another one? The pinion snubber is in, so I figure thats added support.

2.) Is the thumping from the differential? My theory is that instead of the differential being pressed against the underbody of the car, now it has something to bounce off of (snubber) , and is just repeatedly doing that.

Thanks for your time.
