Question A few Problems

I own a 90 TII and im having a few issues...

1)One of my headlights stopped working but the brights work on that headlamp. Is this a connection problem or did the headlamp go?Where can I get a replacement from?

2)Whenever I let of the gas there is a strange rattle that sounds like its coming from the middle of the car...maybe the trans.Anyone else have this rattle? What do you guys think it is?I know its not the exhaust system it was just put on and its done it before hand.Im pretty sure when im in 4th gear the rattle stops for some reason...i'll go take a drive in a lil bit to make sure it stops like I said in 4th.

3)Boost issue...

-Apexi Power Intake
-Custom 3" full exhaust no cats
-Mechanical boost guage

That's about all that would deal with boost.

It doesn't run the full 8 lbs of boost its supposed to.Something electric must be messed up.

In 1st it runs to 5.5lbs
In 2nd it runs to 5.5lbs
In 3rd it runs to like 6 lbs and stays
In 4th on the freeway it goes immediately to like 7.5 lbs and stays there, doesn't creep.
In 5th maybe like 6.5 or 7 lbs again (I haven't had it at like 6k in 5th gear though).

Anyone know why it runs immediately up to 7.5 in 4th,but won't do that in any other gear at all? It's stopping right at 5.5 lbs before, where the wastegate is mechanically sprung. It's really really odd...and I don't think it's creeping which is odd.

title updated to better reflect questions.

And you probably have a bad headlight, a loose exhaust sheild, and a vac leak or need a FCD

Aaron, you definitely need a new headlight...as far as I know(somebody correct me here, but this is coming from my Parts Dept experience), the lights on an RX-7 are fully sealed assemblies, meaning you'll need the whole deal.

Problem 2: Either hit up Strauss, CarQuest, or an aftermarket store around you and see if they have an exhaust shield. If not, try to find a Mazda dealer that may have one...most RX-7 parts are quite hard to find n my area(does anybody else have this problem?)

Problem 3: Possible vaccum leak...doesn't sound like boost creep at all...I don't know what you'd need to fix the problem though...

yes, the Rx7 has a big sealed headlamp, and you can pick one up at autozone or wherever...

You can also order a sealed to open conversion kit. I think I saw one on Corksport, but they're on E-Bay all the time. I'm thinking about doing that soon myself.

2) Like someone said probably a loose heat shield or something in the exhaust. Oh and it's a custom 2.5" turbo-back, not 3" (unless you changed it completely?)

3) Someone mentioned a vacuum leak, why would a vacuum leak in the boost control system cause the system to under-boost? It's an electrical problem with the stock DSV not opening up properly, whether the problem lies somewhere in the wiring to it, the signal to it, the ECU soldering or whatever, I'm not sure, but I tested the DSV (and even replaced it with a "new used" one) and still had the same problem when I had it. An electronic boost controller or manual boost controller should fix the problem.

Oh and I'd get a fuel pump before you fix that problem, you're creeping up on the max for the stock fuel pump.
