fender flaring

NO! Soul Assassin used a wheel well flarer and minimal bodyfiller. The flaring tool looks like a cross between a can opener and a rollerskate. There are pics of his being done on this forum if you do a SEARCH!
_edit- damn, didn't need my sig in there.

...94% correct.
This is what I did when I was running wide *** tires on the front...and, hey, it was free...
Take your trusty 10mm wrench and unbolt the four bolts holding the bottom of the fender to the car (should be 2 in front of the wheel and 2 behind).
I don't remember the measurements exaclty, but it's easy to figure out. Take and cut a 2"X5" strip of 1/16 sheet steel. Now take this strip to the rear of the fender. Place one edge inside the lip of the fender so that you can mark where the bolts go. Take the piece back out and drill those two holes. Now drill two holes of equal distance from one another on the oposite side of the plate (should have 4 holes, one toward each corner), Now you take the plate back to the car to make sure all of the holes line up. Now you need to get a couple of nuts and bolts and washers and put them through the plate on the side that the fender will mount to. Tighten the nuts and washers finger tight and then tack the nuts down. Now go back to the car and install.
Do the same thing to the mounting locations in front of the wheel only use a 1-1.25" strip.
Now this will give an extra 1.25-1.75'' of fender room for a wider tire. Now keep in mind though that doing this creates a gap at the rear of the fender. I used expanded metal to cover the gap and ran a piece of dryer duct to that vacinity to pull air from the engine bay. In my opinion it doesn't look bad...especially with side skirts...especially for something that was free.
I'm bad at giving directions but I might be able to scrounge up some pictures if any one is interested.

I would like to see some pics of how soul assisin did it,
when I asked him if they were a kit he said it wasnt and didnt elaborate on it at all, he himself might not have done it because he paid other people to work on his car all the time. But look at the pic of his car, how can one stretch the original steel like that and not crack it? Instead of posting the usuall "ues the search function", why dont you post a link to make it easier for us? I would make flares like that out of fiberglass, some epoxy, and a bit of bodyfiller to smooth it all out, if you looked at the close up pics of them, they werent 100% mint by a long shot.

It requires a touch, people have been doing it with bats since the 1950's. Basically you jack the car up so the wheel hangs free, then using what width of the bat you think you will need, you lower the car down slowly, rolling the bat back and forth so it flares the fender. You dont just go bashing the cars body with a bat. You cant get much of a flare, but you can roll the lips of the fender in so they wont go cutting up the tire.

the CS ones are pretty much the same as the RE's they just haven't been riveted, and blended into the 1/4 panel yet. what you'd need to do for clearence is cut away ll but the riveted support area on the fender , that would give you allot mre room to lower te car and use wider wheels at the same time.. if you just looking for wider front 1/4 panels , doesn't Mahria ( sp).. that company that sells the wide body GT II kit, sell glass ones for $195 per panel?

You can rent the fender rollers from tirerack.com i think...and also lots of people usea heatgun to heat up the metal/paint so it doesn't chip as easily

and the fender flare ends before the turn signal?
