Feedback System

I read the codes that were stored on my ecu and one of them was #17 Feedback system. Does anyone know if this is a big deal and how to fix it. My car runs fine and I should mention that I have removed the air pump.

Feedback system has something to do with the O2 sensor, and it's circuitry I belive. Is your O2 sensor hooked up and functioning?

Your profile says you have a 90, if it is a non-turbo, you do know that without the air pump the VDI and aux ports will not work?

what about the VDI???

is there a reason you wired the aux ports open other than to remove the air-pump (and you wanted to loose the low end power of the motor)???

VDI (see the FAQ)

And the VDI is:

A rotary valve that was added between the intake tracks which started opening at 4500 RPM. This variable dynamic intake (VDI) valve enhanced the DEI (Dynamic Effect Intake) by altering the length of the fuel/air mixture path based on engine speed and load.

Without any way to drive the VDI or the Aux ports, you have robbed the engine of about 12-15 HP effectivly making almost the same as what a S4 engine puts out.

Infact engine dyno tests (which I posted a couple months back) show that the VDI gives you all the extra HP from about 5K up over a non-VDI equipped Non turbo engine. Without it working, you either have no bottom end (if wired on andmade worse by the aux ports wired open) or no top and bottom end (if the aux ports are wired on and the VDI is wired closed).

it's either your 02 sensor itself or the wire between it and the ecu.

Just mod your car to compensate for the lost 12-15hp. Its what we s4 owners do
Damn i feel like bottom of the food chain right now...

Well it makes sense wat u say but your wrong, my car is pretty quick in both low and top end. I'm gonna have to rip apart my intake to understand if he really did wire them open, and u keep saying I did this, it was already like it when I baught it

If you like it now, think of how much better (faster?) it would be if the systems were working correctly...

Nothing like an extra 15 HP at the top end and 10 Ft/lbs at the bottom end.
