FD Rear Brake Calipers

I am buying new rear calipers for my car, not because I want upgraded ones, but because I need new ones. I already did a good amount of searching, and found that FD front calipers will work, but I didn't see anything specifically about the rears. I also found out that the rears do not need to be upgraded at all. The only reason I am wondering this is because I can get a pretty good deal on reman FD calipers. I just bought loaded 4-pot front calipers, and will also be buying new loaded rear calipers along with SS lines. So I need to know if these calipers will work and also what rotors I have to use with them. Thanks in advance for any help, and all opinions/suggestions are welcome.

why dont you just go with the t2 brake set up for the rears of course..the only diff. is that the FD set up came with abs..other then that its all the same.

Because like I said, I can get a better deal on FD loaded calipers than I could on TII ones. I just want to make sure that they'll work.

I don't think anyone's tried since there's no performance advantage switching from TII to FD calipers. You could try it out and let us know, if you'd like.

I'm kind of short on cash right now, so I would rather not take the chance with spending money on something that might not work. I would rather know for sure before buying them.

Might as well stick with the stock calipers then. Just install the FD ones up front.

FD front calipers are the same as FC turbo II. They just look different.

I have a 5 lug, and like I said I just bought TII calipers for the front. And I would stick with the stockers, except that I need new ones anyway. So again, the reason I am even considering the FD calipers is because I can get a good deal on them, and I need to know if they will work alright with the setup I mentioned eariler.

Well, you're going to have to find out for us. If the calipers mount the same, you should have no problems. If the rear brakes are vented, most likely you could use tII rotors.

compare the measurements of the brake rotors and calipers. rotor measurements are easy to find, and for the calipers if you can at least measure the FD ones before you buy that is your best bet.
if the measurements line up chances are they will fit...

FD caliper will not fit on rear without some serious modifications.

Thank you nik. I called my rotary mechanic a couple hours ago and he also told me that it will not work.
