FD intake LOWER manifold adapter plate (an abomination??)

Here is a pic of the adapter plate and what has been done to the lower fd manifold. This stuff came with the car when i got it. It makes me feel uneasy and worried about using it and getting intake leaks. Anyone have an opinion on this? Im probably just going to sell it and run stock t2 manifold. It did come with a custom rail for 14mm injectors and 1600s. The manifold was bolted to the engine and seemed quite sturdy but upon removal its a little sketchy to me.

As you can see they drilled out 2 holes in the lim to bolt up to fc engine. They do not appear to go through the intake passages yet it still does not seem right to me for most likely minimal gains and monster headaches

Why would you want to use the FD lower? The rear runner doesn't get equal flow, and the angle that the ports have to take in order to hug the engine tight enough to clear the twins is less optimal than the FC lower, especially when using stock FC intake ports.

The spacer would make the intake stick out too far, then you'd have to put a spacer on the exhaust manifold too. Plus stock twins kind of suck.
