Question FD Alt Problem..Maybe?

I bought my car with an FD alt already installed, perfectly installed right?

Maybe not.

I just got it rebuilt because I was having idle issues associated with low voltage(head lights dimming, rev it up, headlights are fine).

Today when installing I noticed the belts(dual pulley) do not line up perfect. They look a little, like a hair off.
Could this be from an improper pulley adjustment(needed for the FD alt install).
Or
Could it be from the nut/bolt combo that you have to "fabricate" for alternator.

I took the car out for a spin tonight and it definitely fixed my problem of low low idle. But I still have a bit of a voltage problem. I think it's the E-FAN, it seems my E-fan run's all the time, such as when I put the key in for ACC it turns on. Would this be causing low voltage?

Thanks in advance fellas.

Mabye the battery could be bad. I had a bad battery that caused the same symptons that you described above. Wouldn't hurt to swing by Autozone or other car place to get a free check on it.

I dont think the E fan running all the time could make that significant of a drop in voltage, its just like having a light on all the time, or an amp, its using a 12V source. Try SuphaG's suggestion get the bat. checked...

Update:

Took it for a spin and bam, voltage was dying again. Seems like once it gets all warmed up and feeling good it does this, off to autozone.

Not the battery. Maybe the voltage regulator on the alternator? I hope not since I just got it rebuilt(or maybe that would be good because it would be easy to fix).

Could it be the belts, which are not perfectly lined up?

Just a thought, but would Autozone's testing be able to tell if the Voltage Regulator is out?

i just went through the same issue, turned out a diode had gone in the alt and the alt killed my battery. had to replace the alternator and THEN the battery in order to get it to keep voltage steady. autozone's tests confirmed the bad alt for me, but it told me the batt was fine. i knew otherwise, after the third dead return they gave me a new one. and all seems to be well.
are your belts in spec? i doubt its just a loose belt but it could be, doesnt hurt to check.

Well see, my belts are fine, but they do not line up say.."perfectly" and look a tad wobbly when it's idling. I can take a quick video of it tomorrow.

The belts being mis-aligned would most likely not cause any drop in voltage. If anything, it would simply cause them to shred (which is equally bad, haha).

Lol yeah, any info about the FD alts and pulley adjustment?

I searched and it revealed nothing I was looking for.
