FC3S Intake
Seen several posts of intake for the fc3s lately. Pro's and Con's of cone type filters, cold air boxes and such. AgentD provided me with a link on aim which positions the filter more towards the bottom of the engine bay, where it can reciever cooler air.

I think I will go with a CAI intake similar to the one that 1300cc.com shows since I too have an electric fan and can fabricate brackets to tilt the radiator forward a bit to allow for the tubing.

, it will just serve as natural water injection to steam clean our engines....
on a more serious note, i have the checkpoint intake, i just installed it a few days ago... it required trimming the radiator braket about a centemeter back for about 3 inches in order for it to fit... shouldnt have changed anything structuraly though.

Anyone ever think of going to a muffler shop and getting a custom pipe bent to find their aplication? I pay less for a custom pipe and turbo muffler on my first gen RX7 then what they charge for this pipe and filter. INlet pipes are what, 4" in diameter at the most? Paint the pipe and call it good.

Well considering that the K&N filter has oil on it makes that a bit different since oil and water don't mix. another thing is that that watter would have to travel where air does at a steep angle upwards. The water probably would not get into the engine and probably sit in the pipe. Now if your in an area that is being flooded that is another story.

Youve obviously never heard the Honda horror stories...
If water wasnt able to get sucked up in the engine why do you think AEM makes a bypass valve for a lot of their CAI kits?
And BTW, a K&N WILL suck up water. The oil in the filter isnt going to stop it...
Well all in all you would be an idiot to take your car through a road that is in 6+" of water to begin with. Anyways I am not adding that much cost to my intake I will take my chances with no bypass valve.

Rx7nub it wont matter. Go get a 10 gallon tub and fill it with water. Take the vac nipple off your turbo and stick it in there. Rev the car to 3k and watch it all disappear. It wont hurt the motor. I dont think you can even hydrolock a rotary... not willing to test it on my own though

Than he can use an AEM universal water bypass thing.
The only water that goes into there is in spray and droplet form, which is harmless. If you get solid water onto the filter you're an idiot for driving through a puddle that deep.
