the swap isn't very easy.

FC engine code is 13B-T
FD engine code is 13B-REW

I believe that the japanese cosmo 13B-RE engine has the same mounts as the FD engine.

You'll have a much easier time I suspect of just rebuilding your engine. or tracking down an FD engine.

FD engines can be found for about $2500 US, not sure how much shipping would be to you though.

It will not work. If i were you go to your near by Mazda dealership and just purchase a remanufactured FD engine. It works swapping housing around, but it will cost you more at the end.

The RE and REW dont share the same mounts locations. This is partly why a RE swap in a FC is easier.

I'm using an FD harness/ecu with a 13B-re engine keg.

The engine "longblock" between re and rew is really close, but the porting differences make for poor running (extreme rich) in boost. It would be fine with a standalone.

Best thing you can probably do is have a mazda reman shipped to you it should weigh less than 100 kilos with a crate and take about 1/4 pallet space.

If you get it through one of the good shops you may be able to get them to provide a core for mazda using all junk parts for less than the cost of the mazda core charge.

Dude you're in Canada!! The land of J-Spec engines. I know many shops that have many. I could find you one in 15 minutes...if I take my time. Go for an FD.

Try Japan general Motor
Sunrise
Japan domestic motor
Engine land
and many many others...

thats stupid. why get a US-spec for more, when you can get a jspec for cheaper, and shipping would probably be a lot less.
