All fuel injected cars have a PD.

The S5 rail is no different other than $75 more and the PD can not longer be replaced.

The whole fuel rail must be replaced when the S5 PD fails.

so in short the best option would be an aftermarket FPR with an integrated PD?? I know the topic has been run into the ground with thread after thread. but im looking for a viable option that doesnt envolve an entire fuel system customization..

The best option would be a new PD... if you have a S4, get a factory replacement S4 PD (which really should be changed every 10 years or 100K miles anyway).

If you have a new one that will last 10 years, what would be the worry?

yeah I can agree with that. I've just wondered about the reliability of them. But i think overall people over react and think that just having a PD is "inferior" to begin with, eventhough the car was built that way.
