FC3drift's Bullet Proof 13b-t build

I've been working on my car for the last few weekends.I figure I should make a build thread.
I took my car to the road course and blew and oil line and ended up locking up my engine, luckily i was planning on freshening it up and already had the rebuild kit.
I knew the eccentric shaft and stationary gears would be screwed, so i picked up a spare S5 TII keg with a chipped apex seal on the rear rotor, i tore that apart and found a huge *** dent on the rear rotor, everything but the rear rotor and housing were literally brand new

heres some pics of the rotor

the next weekend i pulled my motor out of my car and tore it apart and was surprised to see 3mm apex seals, solid 3mm corner seals, 7 window rear stationary gear bearing, luckily only the front stationary gear main bearing had siezed. it took a bit of playing around to finally get it apart.i ended up pulling the main bearing, which was siezed to the eccentric shaft, right out of the stationary gear. then i had to cut a few slits in the bearing and literally peel it off the eccentric shaft with a chisel and a hammer

pics of the rear main bearing

My engine also had the extra thick casting around the rear dowel by the oil filter, you can see the differance compared to a regular S5 rear iron

a pic of my OS Giken Twin disk clutch

engine pic

Anyways I been just working away cleaning everything. I have all my parts ordered so everything should be showing up within the next week and i can start rebuilding.

My build list

S5 TII engine
Rotary Aviation Basic rebuild kit
3mm RA "Super Seals"
new OEM 3mm apex seal springs for GSL-SE
New OEM 3mm solid corner seals from Pre 76 13b's
Pineapple Racing Medium Streetport and EP2 templates
7 window rear main bearing
extra beefy rear iron

should be a nice strong reliable engine when its all done, Bullet proof for my power levels

More pics comming soon

350-380whp

I dynoed 361whp 309ft-lbs in april on this set up
I gotta see how much the Pineapple streetport adds

I basically just want the same power level but with a bit less boost

Cause of the last engine failure was the oil line, has that been addressed?

the jdm motor lasted almost 4 years before, and only died from a spun front main bearing.

Im waiting for my RA super seals to come in, Im hoping next weekend. I got all my little random o-ring's new oem gsl-se apex springs, new oem 3mm solid corner seals last week.
RA was letting me exhange my seals i went to send them back and cheaped out trying to save $20 with fedex ground, they said they would have them there in a week, but i messed up the customs paperwork and they were on clearance delay in missisauga since June 30th they had to clarify something but had a long weekend. long story short they were saying they wouldnt be delivered till july 15th so i told them to return the package and i just finally got it back today after messing around on the phone with fedex for 2 days..... they even charged me $9 to return it even tho i paid for shipping to florida and it made it to missisauga. i sent them out next day delivery purolator for $45 so I hope i have them ready to go for next weekend

I used my Mommy's CAA.....so $0 the tow truck driver said it would have been 4-$500 tow
my moms CAA is good for 150kms, and luckily my house is 120kms away hahaha
Can you guess what my mom got me for my birthday last week?

I got my engine built!!! This was my first time building an engine... it turns over by hand and makes good compression so i hope everything is good. I used RR rebuild pdf and the FSM, and a haynes for referance while building.

I've been busy as hell with work then workin on the engine I haven't had a chance to update my thread. The actual build went pretty smooth, I built it up in my head to be alot harder than it actually was. I heard of guys having problems with lining up the oil pump chain sprockets??? hahaha I got it first try within 30 seconds , I set the end play today and got the front cover, I had 2 "K" spacers which gave me .0035, so I sanded one down with a sheet of 400 grit, till i got .0020 endplay
I spent alot of my time today cleaning and painting little odds and ends,

All thats left to install tomorrow is
the turbo
lower IM
OMP
water pump housing
fuel injectors and lines
set the clutch up.
put it back in the car and hook it all back up

anyways here's some pictures

housings all painted

engine all painted waiting to be assembled

clean rotors

3mm solid corner seals

3mm RA Super Seals crazy glued together

my engine stand

it makes good compression check out the video

baller engine stand. It's actually amazing how simple and cheap it can be to build this motor and yet still do things correctly
