A lot of problems are owner-dependent. These types of threads usually end up in arguments. You might want to try the 3rd gen section for detailed 3rd gen info.

Please do a lot of research before buying an FD, if that's what you're thinking.

The problem with the FD is they aren't as cool as an FC and cost 14x more.

Yeah, I don't know.... I think FD's are pretty darn cool. I'd get one if I could afford to "do it right" with one. Unfortunately, all I could afford is to get one and keep it running. No mods, no fun, etc..

With an FC, I can afford the car, a paint booth, air compressor, paint.... man.. I should have gotten an FD.

 

FD do not need mods to be fun, except for maybe reliabilty mods to keep said fun continuous

You are saying you could own a 7 and NOT do stuff to it? Man, I don't have it in me.

 

FD's do not like random mods to the motor.
The only things done to the one I had were Petit Racing intake, Aluminum AST, a Rotary Performance catback, and some reliability stuff.(and that's how the car was when i bought it)
The car was plenty of fun but unfortunately alot of the good stuff for upgrading FD's is at much higher price point than FC's and they're just a little harder to work on.

Like the "random" mods people do to FCs, and still blow them up too. Like upgrading the exhaust with no compensation for fuel?

Every car is the same as far as modifications go.

I heard they light cigars with dollar bills and SOME get a superiority complex.

 

there are people have dumped 70k+ into their fds especially some of the guys with 20b swaps. but then again as soon as a car is in fast and the furious parts get 5x more expensive
