That really depends on your preference. I converted mine and I like them a lot more. The install is simple

If you're referring to the S5 (89-91) taillights, its just up to you, personal preference. I swapped them, basically for something different, and because I got them for cheap. There is no way I would pay upwards of $200 for them, (have seen some sell for closer to $300) but for some people its worth it. I actually like the looks of the S4 taillights as well, but they both are nice...

on the 100 S5 lights you end up paying $70.00 + just for shipping. Read the ADS CAREFULLY

It's a question of cosmetics / aesthetics. I personally liked the s5 tail_lights before I got my first RX-7 (they're round and they're a throwback to the ole' R100, RX-2, RX-3, and RX-4. But the "matrix" lights on the s4 are classic as well...

maybe flip a coin to decide?

take that 100 dollars and buy something for performance bro. you can get SS brake lines or new brake pads for that much. Or how about a strut tower bar? new bushing If your car is FULLY modded to what you want it then go for the cosmetics. I wouldn't be cause I know that when I paint my car and polish my S4 lenses they will shine sooo good. The S5 tails looke nice I admit but only at night. I don't like them in the day.

I just got them on mine... I love how they look, I think they're much more modern and attractive looking than the S4 lights.

It’s all personal preference.

But IMO:

The S5 lights look like they came off of a mid-eighties T bird. From the under plastic look, to the lame black band of plastic across the bottom. They only thing they are missing is the wings, from a T-bird.

They look nothing like the old RX-2, RX-3 or RX-4 lights, which were independent lights and not under some semi monotone funky cover.

I though that way in 89 when I first saw the S5 lights come out, and I feel that way now. In fact I can remember the conversation my buddy and I had, when we first saw the S5 tail lights, and how Mazda ruined the great looks with those lame lights.

But the S4 lights, painted to match body color update very nicely.

I put some S5 tails on my S4 vert, and love the update. But as you can see, opinions vary around here. I did keep my S4 tails, and can swap them out if I get tired of the round ones. So I say, if you really can't decide, go with BOTH!

The S4 tail lights don't even look like they belong on the car IMO. They look like some parts bin throw on from a 626 or something.
