Is the FC interior dorky?

I love any true sports car. Anything special and with a soul gets my respect. We all know that the engine, suspension, chassis and body of the FC are its strong points. But the interior (specifically the dashboard and center console) is not up to par with the rest of the car in my opinion.

For example: here is a standard TII interior:

The 928 interior is of the same 80s time period. All I'm saying is that the FC interior sucks compared to the other cars out there that it compares to from a looks and performance standpoint.

Even this 968 interior is mid '90s and has a lot more soul than that boxy brick of a TII dash.

Look at the Supras at the time. The FC cost new half of what the supra cost...a third or less of what the 928 cost. You're confusing sport with sport luxury.

The color of the interior of my 87 TII could be better but...hell it's an 80's car. It probally looked better when it wasn't faded thought, but overall I love it.

**edit**
not tII? whoops...

Im mixed on the layout and design of the FC interior, but one thing i do think should have been done, was research into the materials used to make the interior. Plastic that cracks when exposed to sunlight should have been left out of the interior. I mean, it makes sense right...

do you like anything about the FC? you posted somewhere else that "real men have pistons" or somethin. I think you are on the wrong forum. There is nothin about my FC that I don't like. I remember when I pcked up the car after buying it and loving the way the dash and door panels flowed together and the headrest speakers and everything and that love has never left.

With a FC you either love it or you don't and it sounds like you don't.

I love my FC's interior. I personally think th Porche is ugly. It's too round/space-shippy for me. I like the square, no nonsense lines of the RX interior. It's very functional, everything you need is right there within easy reach, it's all very natural. Plus, like someone said before, you're comparing a Porche to a Mazda, I love my FC to death, but there's really no comparing. It's like comparing a Chevette to, hell, the FC. It just doesn't compare.

eah, i cant stand the rx7 interrior in my Tii, its uncomfortable, and things are placed in crappy places. probally because i came out of a 944. witch is the same interrior as you have posted as the 968 interrior, porsche stated that one in 1986. same as the 2nd gen rx7. as far as looks, whats the price of the car have to do with looks of the interrior? they could of still used the cheap plastic they used in the 7 interrior, and made it look nice, and laid it out well.

Personally, I like the bare interior. I think all sports cars nowadays seem too coushy. I mean when sports cars have heated seats and CUP HOLDERS? Wtf is that about? It may not be very exciting to look at, but hell it does its job, and to me thats all that matters.

Compare our interior to that of any other 80's car that cost a similar amount. I think you'll agree we didn't get it too bad.

I personally love the FC interior. It looks very good IMO. You ever see a MKIII supra interior?.. That 928 interior is gorgeous though...almost NSX-ish. Love the long sweeping center console ...

fit's so snug when you sit in there. Whenever my friend works on his car or whatever, I steal a quick sit in it. Feels so much better than a T2.

I know I'm a loser.

If you are serching for a true sports car there shouldn't be any excess that are not necessary in the first place. What you are looking for is "luxury sports car".

What you want is a luxury sports car interior in a true sports car interior.

Personally nothing wrong with it, but, if you like them get them Porsches. I love Porsches, too.

You are comparing an apple and orange.

Besides, FC interior already have enough stuff and does look really clean.
