fc fuel sender test

Hey guys can you please help me out.
I replaced my cluster with a custom made one and added a fuel level auto meter gauge. Now i am unsure if it got the chrysler or the GM one.
Now my problem is when i put the sender on empty the gauge reads way past full and then when i put the sender on full the gauge reads 1/4.
Now i am trying to measure the ohms but my multi meter isnt reading for some reason
I have got it on 200 ohms scale and tried reading off the red wire (4 pin connector) and the black brob to the earth on the pump.
Is this correct and does anyone know what is going on with the gauge as my elecy used the standard wire than ran up to the original cluster and just ran it to my new autometer gauge.
Could it be wired around the wrong way or wat?

i have got the signal wire for the autometer gauge hooked up to the red wire coming from the sender at the 4 pin connector which then turns to a green with a white trace at the other side of the connector.
Is this correct ?
anyone?

The wire from the Rear harness which plugs into the fuel pump features four wires and the White/Green wire is the one that connects the fuel sender to the fuel gauge.

Well you have a 0-90 ohm gauge, is it a 0-90 ohm sender? That would be pure luck!

W/G is the wire as mentioned above by Satch.

When the stk GAUGE sees 95 ohms the stk gauge reads.....zero.

When the STK gauge sees 7 ohms........it reads full.

The other ohms readings are in the FSM..........BODY ELECTRICAL section.

No its not exactlly but its close its
the sender =
E= 110 ohms ( 230 mm drop )
1/2 = 32.5 ohms ( 130 mm drop )
F= 3 ohms

But still should work the same way but just be a bit out but the gauge is working the wrong way around.

well... if the gauge is being used on your side of the equator... that would make sense right?

Sorry mate what do you mean by that? i know how the gauge works but what i am saying is there is 3 wires on the back of my Autometer gm gauge as seen below
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-4314/
And when i installed it i ran the power and earth as usual and then the signal wire i got from behind the original cluster which is the green/white wire which is the fuel level signal wire.

BUT when i turn the car on with the sender out in my hand when it is lowered (empty) the guage reads just past full. when i put it so the float is lifted up (full) the gauge goes down so it is working in reverse.

I believe the sender is a 3ohms-110 ohms and i have read on several forums where people say to use the GM (autometer) gauge casue it is closest to the standard mazda one as the chrysler is a little bit more out.

What is FSM ?
