Question FC & FD Brake compatibility

Does anyone know if the 3rd gen brakes are the same as 5-lug 2nd gens? i.e. rotors, pads, lines?

Only the pads will swap over to a "hard" FC suspension.

I think the front calipers will fit on a 1989-1991 Kouki FC - see if cym will reply...

The rotors are all bigger, so they won't fit.

The only reason I'm asking is because I see alot of "big-brake" conversions for the 3rd gens, and was wondering if I could buy one and retrofit it onto a 90 vert

the rotors are different, not interchangable. You can swap fd calipers with fc calipers, but its not worth spending a ton of money on. They are the same size, same brake pad sweep. Better off spending money on an AP or Brembo big brake kit.

For 5-lug FCs not including the cheap 5-lug 89+ GTU.

All the pads are the same front and rear.

I put on a FD caliper on my 87 TII, fits fine, as posted above, no real benefit though. The same pistons, same pad, caliper might be slightly stiffer but not much. FC caliper looks "better" IMHO.

Front rotors won't fit, never tried the rears, doubt if they'd fit though.

anyone ever thought of making a plate to relocate the caliper to accomdate bigger rotors. I was thinkin something like a big brake upgrade for a honda, something cheap and easy to get a hold of.
