FC Crank Angle Sensor

Experimenting with Ford EDIS on another Mazda engine. (2.6L I4 in my truck.)

Was wondering if the 2nd gen CAS was of the 36-1 tooth wheel type...

I figure if the distributor from my 1st gen fits in the 4 banger, then so would a FC CAS.

TIA.

to run EDIS off a cam angle sensor (which is what you'd be doing by putting a CAS in a piston engine) you need to have 72 teeth on the VR wheel with 2 cut out 180 deg from each other and aligned properly. This is because the cam travels half as fast as the crank.

I've been thinking rotaries too much. Distributor is geared to the cam in the truck, not to the crank like the 7.

I will go flog myself thoroughlly and with great vigor...

So how do people run EDIS on a rotary? Is the CAS on the FC a 72-2 tooth wheel?

I wasn't aware of anyone trying an EDIS on a rotary...

The CAS also spins at half crank speed like a cam sensor.
