Thumbs up Faster-easier

have you ever wondered what would you do if you are on that long trip and all of a sudden your fuel pump goes out? no worries- go to your local parts store, advance, auto zone ,pep boys etc- ( before you leave) and buy a in line fuel pump and make sure you have the right connections to put it in line. now i have been wondering on to wether or not to go ahead and put it in line now, if this would increase the preformance of fuel delivery. or if it would give too much pressure in line and damage the injectors or something else. does any one know the max amount of pressure you can use and be safe. ohh,btw if you do have problems on that trip with your fact pump you don't have to pull the old one out just remove the line coming from the tank, it is in the engine compartment not in the trunk area. connect it to the in line on the new pump put the connecting hose line back to where you removed the origional line and connect the power and you are in business, you can use a temp power connection by running straight to batt and put a on/off switch in line be sure to fuse it or locate the fact electrical connection - you will need the fact wiring schematic, you can download it @ (iluvmyrx7) has any one else done this? what do you think? PEACE. ex...

Fuel pressure is about 36-40 psi...
You don't want to take it higher than that without a fuel controller. You'll run way too rich all across the board.
I run an inline pump. Its one of my favourite mods.

Fuel pump pressure is on the order of 70 to 92 psi and is regulated by the fuel pressure regulator between the figures 28psi to 37psi on a N/A, dependent on the intake manifold pressure. On a turbo the pump pressure is 64 to 85.3 psi and is regualted from 28psi to at least 50psi under boost, by the fuel pressure regulator.

NO! I had to do some custom work to get mine to run, which included wedling a sump at the back of my tank.
