No, I've never done that testing. In pretty much all cars it'll be closer to the front, as that's where the low-pressure zone above the hood exists.
I know someone's bound to read this and post up that FC pressure profile, but that only shows the pressures above the hood. You need to know the pressure difference between the hood's top and bottom surfaces to find the ideal spot. The pressure in the engine bay varies far more than you'd think.
