A dealership usually has a minimum shop charge. I would expect to see a fee of 65 bucks or so around here (Memphis, TN).
I would be very leery of paying anyone to check the compression unless they have the proper Mazda tester. You can purchase a compression gauge for twenty to thirty bucks or so at any decent auto parts store and do it your self. This type of compression check is OK, but it is not nearly as accurate as using the electronic Masda checker.

The Mazda Digital Compression Tester can be picked up from Mazdatrix for the low, low price of...
49-F018-9A0B.....TOOL COMPRESSION TST..DIGITAL COMP TESTER...$1640.00
At 40 bucks a pop, if you can line up 41 people, it'll have paid for itself.
