Is there a way to check if Air Flow Meter is working right?

I have a 89 NA and I think that my air flow meter is working right, because im losing power after 4,000 rpm,i nstead of 200 hp im making like 125 hp.
Is there a way to test AirFlowMeter to see if its working right or may be i have to check something else.?

If your air flow meter wasn't working right I think you'd have some problems starting the car or keeping it running...could be something else.

I'm not sure why you think it's the AFM, I can think of a dozen reasons for loss of power over 4K.
There is a procedure for checking the health of the AFM in the FSM, that'd be your best bet.

Download the factory manual from the web and do the resistance checks on the air flow meter. You probably losing power because your several other posts indicate you have no air pump therefore the aux actuators do not work nor your VDI. Get a air pump. Period. Also need a better description of what you mean by loss of power over 4000. Is it a general loss or a sudden stumble? www.fc3s.com for the manual for free. Or maybe someone can put a jpg of the pertinent pages out of the manual.

Check for clogged exhaust, check your VDI as well. One thing though, how are you checking your HP? there are very few N/A's out there that make 200hp without the use of Nitrous. If your car is pretty close to stock, 125 at the wheels is not that far away from normal. Hp at the fly wheel on the 89-91 n/a's was 160. How did you come about with your HP rating?

25% more power is a lot from such minor mods, how did you measure this?
