Factory Alarm Issue

Ive tried the search already but to no real success. Anyways, my factory alarm is acting up pretty bad. Every time i open the the drivers door (except once) the alarm would go off and i would have to open the trunk to disarm it. I have tried locking the door from the inside and from outside with key, but no luck. A little more info that may be helpful, - stock, - 90 gxl, - passenger side door doesn't open with key, only from inside. I really don't care about it and would rather disarm it if possible.

Go to the CPU. Near your left foot. Pull the elect plug off the CPU that is configured like the one in RED in the attached jpg. Horn should not honk. Problem is not fixed, but the THEFT won't make it honk anymore. Only your fingers will make it honk now.

Someone else can tell him how to FIX the problem.

Or, EXTRACT the wire labled 2C from the plug. The only thing effected then would be the horn being operated by the CPU. It'll still work off the finger on the button. IF you do that, be sure to put a piece of tape over the end of that wire, to prevent a short.

Thanks Hailers, but i read a post by ICEMARK say that the way you mentioned is no good, disabling more than just the horn.

I took this: **I really don't care about it and would rather disarm it if possible.***************************************** *****

to mean you didn't care if any of the theft worked.

I gave you an OPTION at the end of my post. Look at the picture, and you can readily see if you EXTRACT that one wire, the horn cannot be honked by the CPU no'mo. You pull that plug off, You use a small jewelers screwdriver and push down on the plastic tab in that socket and pull that wire out, and that wire only.

EDIT:
OOPS. Make that pin 2B, a green/red wire. NOT 2C.

O, okay i see now. but it looks like i don't have to do anything anymore. I started locking it from the outside again and it stopped going haywire. Thanks for the info though Hailer, and pray this doesn't happen again.

check out ur door handles, there should be a harness that goes to a button switch on them, which triggers the alarm to disable when the lock cylinder swings., sounds like those might have something to do with it.

Removing the door panels aren't too difficult. The FSM has a pretty good description in the BODY section I believe.

I have also had problems with alarm spontaneously going off on my 90 GXL. Got to the point where it became annoying. Cost me a battery once, too. I went on a business trip for nearly two weeks, and when I got back saw that the headlights had popped-up and the battery was dead as a door nail. I disconnected the plug on the top of the CPU thinking this would permanently deactivate the alarm. However, found out that it does not permanently deactivate the alarm. The beep inside the car is still audible. If the alarm triggers, than the headlights still pop-up but they don't flash. The parking and tailligths still flash. Aslo, the horn becomes inoperable. Like someone else mentioned, the cause is probably due to the door handles. Unfortunately, Mazda no longer sells many of this small hardware. In fact, they no longer sell some of the exterior door handle mechanisms.
