External Gaskets...

Hey,
I am in the process of putting parts onto a mazda reman S4 Turbo... I will need new gaskets for the exhaust manifold, intake manifold, etc...

Is there a kit somewhere that just has all the external gaskets... nothing internal. I have searched but all I can find is kits with the interals too.

Thanks for any help.

mazdatrix.com has the external gaskets and so does rotaryaviation.com, you can mix and match them so you can get all the parts you need, anything you cant find go to the dealer, thats what I did.

Does anyone have a list of all the gaskets I will need?

I know I need an exhaust manifold gasket and intake manifold gasket... is there a gasket between the upper and lower intake manifolds? What other little gaskets am I missing?

There's a gasket everywhere two pieces bolt together.

You'll need (assuming everything's disassembled) the exhaust gasket, LIM to black gasket, LIM to UIM gasket, UIM to DIC gasket, then the TB and DIC O-rings. you'll also need a tube of quality silicone sealant.

If you havent taken everything off your engine, you will only need the gaskets that you have already removed. If there are not that many it might be cheaper to just buy the individual gaskets from mazdatrix. However, if you really want every gasket, I believe that Rotary Aviation has them for the cheapest. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Rotary Aviation gasket set is quite abit cheaper than Mazdatrix's.

Well everything is off, and we did it when we were mad at the car.... so.... of course..... we never labelled anything.

It will be an adventure to put it back together, but its fun.

I'll attach a few pictures of the mess we started with.... before and after pics will follow in a month or so...

here is the mess......... its stripped down to the shortblock now (except for the eccentric shaft bolt) and main pulley

We can't get that damn main pulley eccentric shaft bolt out..... We are going to try a breaker bar tonight.... earlier we took a real big ratchet, a propane torch.... heated the bolt...... put the ratchet on, and stepped onto it.......... we thought we got it.... but really we just unsiezed the motor! then we spun it one full turn and it seized again! It's even tougher now.
