I have them and I coated them with high temp engine paint all over. First time I hit the brakes it will clear off the 2 layers and cover the rest of the rotor against rust. I recommend this to anyone that lives in a state that lays down salt in the winter.

I personally try to stay away from cross drilled rotors. Slotted I'm ok with, but cross drilled are a no-no in my book. just my opinion

yeah..theyre zinc coated...painting them is a bad idea. the paint will wear off the braking surface, and then water will get under the edges of it and rust the rest of the rotor...unpainted it doesnt get trapped in there and has a chance to dry....and..in the case of zinc coated rotors, it will have no effect at all save to hinder the cooling a little bit, and it will look retarded.

I think it's because cross drilled (no matter who makes them or where they are coming from) are supposedly supposed to crack more easily than slotted or normal rotors. But I think of it this way, all big brake kits have cross drilled, porsches come with cross drilled, so it cant be all that bad

 

so no one knows where to get cheap performance pads?

brake dust comes more from the pads, not from the rotors as much.

the ones i get are usually like cbrinega's but the straight slot ones i ordered for my friend were umm... straight slotted from the inside edge to the outside edge. looked sick, i'm def. getting mine done like that next time.

and for fc's brembo doesn't make fronts, so if anyone's selling you a front and rear set of brembos, something is fishy... it tends to be brembo front, bradi rears.

I'm about to order some of these ebay rotors as well, though I'm having a tough time deciding which ones to get...

As for pads, I got my f/r Hawk HPS through SPL (typically a Nissan store - read about them in this month's SCC mag). They had the best prices in the NATION, and the best service I've dealt with. Well, I went ahead and ordered my ricey rotors from ebay - 162 bucks shipped for slotted/drilled/zinc coated rotors. Not bad! I will post pics up when I get them, and driving impression after installing them with the Hawks, stainless lines, and good fluid.

 

I've heard too many problems of cross drilled cracking easily.
