Expected life of a 1991 13b N/A
I am curious about what the average expected life span in miles(kilometers) is for a well cared for factory stock engine.
I may need to answer this question when asked by the insurance company when they asess the engine's value.
Remeber, no mods what so ever

Bought a '90 new in '90. A GTU NA. Original engine lasted 229,000 before rear rotor lost compression. Rebuilt went 90K before the body was destroyed.
Changed oil every 1,500 - 2,000, otherwise normal routine maintenance. In 315,000 miles it went thru 1 clutch and one driveshaft, and one rebuilt core. Nothing else major. Reasonably cared for RX7s are simply exceptional machines. As a testiment to my respect for the car, I bought another '90, a GXL when the first one died in 2002.

Where as some are tweeked and tuned to a point where they may not be expected to survive much past the warranty! Got to wonder about the WRX STi @ 300hp!
I'm sure that most would agree that a 13bREW producing 500+ HP wouldn't last 200,000 miles

Saying that it should last 150,000 miles is much different then the statement, 'These engines have proven that a 200,000 mile service life is quite common'

I have a 91 convertible with 110000 and engine is solid as a rock. Noticed the beginning of an auto-tranny slip recently, more noticable when fluid is cold. Have to have it checked out. band slip i would guess.
