exhaust question

If i were you to pass your exhaust through one of these

and one of these

Which one should the exhaust gasses pass through first for maximum muffling? Both are 2.5" tubing.

Should it be like this, or go through the little resonator first? Flow will enter on the red side.

why magnaflow? it was the first muffler that fit where i wanted to stick it. I was hoping to find something a bit more restrictive but i couldnt find one that fit where i wanted it to go.

Which mufflers would be quieter than the magnaflow? I dont care about it being restrictive

ya well, the 4" system is not going anywhere so no racing beat. i want a secondary exhaust path so it is not so loud when i am cruising. I dont want to run a butt plug on the exhaust. I just need a quiet muffler to shut everything up when my exhaust valve is closed. I bet i can get a quieter muffler than the racing beat muffler (i am looking at 2 and 2.5" mufflers). If i have the 4" exhaust totally open i am probably doing somethign and i deserve the ticket anyway so i am not particularly concerned with it being loud when i am being dumb.
