You may just need some WD-40, or other bolt loosing spray. Then, just work real hard at getting it out. Worse case.... drill it out.

you may have to use tin snips to cut away the heat shield if pb blaster dosent work, try heating it with a torch, then resort to cutting it

The bolts on mine were pretty much fused to the manifold, and the heads promptly rounded off upon contact with a socket. I just grabbed onto the shield (wear gloves!) and yanked up and it came off in my hand

Here is a breakdown of the bolting of the exhaust and heat shields. This should help to find and remove the bolts and nuts that hold it all one.

Oh yeah, Deep Creep is the best bolt loosening stuff I have EVER used, and I have used almost everything. Put some on and then go away for 10 minutes and then spray a little more before you attempt to loosen things up. Should help enormously.

You don't need to take the exhaust off, unless you're going to anyways. You need to use a wrench with the top bolts. Feel b/w the bottom of the intake manifold and the top of the exhaust manifold. The heads will break off most likely. Two more on the bottom. Two more on the side, holding the two heat shields together, which you sometimes don't need to take out, since you can bend the heat shields a bit.

Man up and cut that bitch off with a cutting torch.

If you don't have one or are too scared to use it, pay a professional to do it.

^+1 just cut it off if you can't get the bolts off cause chances are that bolts welded themselves in...

if you look at that picture above it shows exactly where the bolts are, use a wrench on the top ones and they will almost defiantly brake off, which dosent matter since you wont be reusing it
