Everything important just DIED!
Everything important just DIED!
A bunch of things in my car all died at once.
Leading/Trailing coils
Tachometer
and possably the fuel injectors...
Starter still works.. lights still work... but everything that is _VITAL_ to the engine no longer works.
Anyone know what this might be?
I'm thinking it's probably the CAS. Running tests now.
Cas within spec, maby wireing harness or ECU?

I really dought your harness just messed up, unless it shorted. And if that was the case you could smell and electrical fire's smoke, it is a very different smoke smell. And just for the hell of it, you could take the ECU in your car apart and see if the cold sodders (spelled wrong if you couldn't tell) are broke. Well this is kinda stumping, I have never really heard of a car do somthing like this, but good luck.
****He said he checked, but that's what I thought to****
I know. I don't trust anybody. Sorry 'bout that. What you might do is get your digital meter out and check to see if you have 12v on the black/yellow wire on the small white, two socket plug on your LEAD coil assy. No 12v equals a car that will not start because a fuse is blown/wire cut/connector disconnected.
CAS are bullet proof if you don't stick something in the guts while its turning/ever. Disconnected plugs are not bullet proof. Bad MainRelays are as rare as a cold day in Hell. Blown fuses are common. Plugs left off the cas or afm are less rare(?less rare). coil assy not bolted down to the chassis.

All fuses checked and double checked... actually tripple checked by now at least.
I did just find a HUGE wet spot in the carpet above the ECU, and since the cover wasn't on because I had just got the car going again and plugged them in the ECU got soaked. I'm thinking it was probably from the Jug of water that I had kicking around for the coolant, although I never spilled it specificaly I have had a bunch of friends working on the car and they may have done it and not said anything. So I tried out another ECU and nothing. Gonna try out another wiring harness in afew mins here... things are looking bleak indeed.
I just hope I can get it running, since I just put out the cash and time to rebuild the engine.

***Just checked the leading ignition coil, it's getting it's 12v****
Well, that's good. Here's a hunch. A fellow recently had the same problem you have. He finally found out that when he changed the engine, he had not bolted down the ground lug for the ECU. It's not near the ECU. Its located on top of the engine. Has about three/four black wires going to this lug. Uses a 10mm head size bolt to hold it down. Maybe a 12mm. I'm saying its under the throttle body and you have to remove that to see if it got bolted down. Its worth a look.
If you don't know what I'm talking about...write back and I'll try again.
No ground for the ECU is as bad as no power.
If the ground is there under the throttle body, then you should be getting spark, what with the cas connectors on and all the ECU plugs connected.

I found one thing bolted down comming from the wiring harness... it was a black wire going to one of the posts that hold the throttle body up.... only one though... I'll start searching for more.
Oh and there were two black lines going to it.
