engine wiring harness removal ?

Okay, easy q: How do i get the wiring harness out of the engine? I see it comes from the ECU, and I see where it goes. I disconnected all the crap for it, and now i dont know how to get it out completely. Help?

ya... im beginnin to think this might be a little harder than it looks to get this damn thing out...
You know what im talkin about right? The wires that come out of the ECU into the engine bay and connect to the engine in about 10 places? How do you get that whole assembly out? I need to motor swap ASAP... Like I gotta have my motor out in 11 hours and its time for bed... I still gotta hook up the winch to use my... different... engine lift... Cmon dudes...

Um...pull it out of where? The Engine? There should be some wires connected under the Intake Manifold...so that would need to be removed...Other than that I am not exactly sure what you are asking...

Huh, you will need to take the intake off. It is pretty straight forward then.

I knwo of at least one place where the harness has a ground bolted to the engine, so unless you want to break things take your intake off.

That ground...is that located on the BACK BACK BACK of the block...like, if you stick your little *** head, like mine, behind it, can you see the bolt? I think I saw it...but it looked like the wire connected to the block went up to the ground on the firewall? Is that how it is mounted??? Is there another wire going into that bolt on the ground? Curious to know!

Yeah, there are TWO.
One comes from the harness and bolts up to the block near the EGR (5 inches or so) and the other one you can prolly see pretty easy goes from the block to the firewall. At least on my car.

Dude, if you take the upper intake/ throttle body assy off as one piece, it's a breeze...When I pulled my engine I just disconnected everything & set the whole harness off to the side, out of the way. Screw that 'disconnect from the ECU' crap...

I think if you do a search of Intake Manifold porting you will get a good description of how to pull your intake, that is where I learned. It may even be in the archive.

I think it took me 4 hours the first time (there is one bolt on the LIM that I had a heck of a time with) , The last time (I think my third time) it took like 20 minutes.
