Engine weight?
I am buying an S5 NA engine and need to transport it about 250 miles and the only thing I have to do so is a pickup. Now my question is how much does the engine weigh and will 2 guys be able to lift it onto the pickup or is it just too heavy?

the long block weighs about 350 pounds or so. The tranny itself is easily picked up by one person, and if its just the engine, which weighs about 200 pounds or so, then 2 people should be fine. If its the whole long block then you could have problems.
Put your back into girly men!
I had to carry mine on 2 or 3 round trips from build area across my yard to the install area by myself. Just the block with accessories. tranny was seperate. 2 guys should be able to handle longblock no problem as long as your not stick people

2 guys can do it just fine, my and a buddy picked the complete motor and tranny out of the back of a ford f150, if you cant do it then take off the transmission and do them seperate.

according to this site, the core itself only weighs 180lbs, but weighs 278lbs with alt, intake, etc attached

Damn, somebody beat me to it.
I thought I just did.
Shortblock: Rotor housings, irons, front cover, NO water pump, maybe an oil pan.
Longblock: Shortblock + manifolds, turbo, intercooler, alt, PS, AC, and whatever else makes a complete engine.
Neither traditionally include a tranny or wiring.

Pick up truck = OK
2 people = OK
short block = block only inlcuding oil pan and clutch usually.
Long Block = Complete Engine. Harness attached or not either way it is still a long block.
