Well if it were on the driverside, it would be a makeshift catch can. My guess though is that's the rx7 cup holder

Should be a fun install. I always enjoy motor jobs, especially when the new motor is pretty much ready to bolt in. What's the specs on your good used motor? how many miles? How much boost has it seen? How's the compression?

Good luck on the install.
Regards,
-Markus

I usually have a beer sitting right there, or up by the windsheid. Can't do an engine job without some Samuel Adams. Nice RX, I love white TII's.

lol- why didnt they ever build RX7 cup holders, or atleast beer holders?! you need em with all the work you have to do in and outside of em. then when you finally get them runnin for that one day, you know you hit up the local cruise for a burger n a drink- then theres nowhere to put it!

They are there to hold the interior screws while you're taking it apart to get to the ECU!

haha, i had an arguement about those "cup holders" in glove boxes. my friend insisted that the drink would be fine since gravity would hold it down and the little lip would hold it. i tried to explain the center of gravity would be affected when the car moves. maybe if you drive an automatic and drive it conservatively, but i'm not so pleasant in my RX7 (when it ran) to keep a cup safely in that cupholder. and that term is used loosely.
