Engine swap start up problems!
Basically my old engine's oil seal went out and i got a motor out of a friends car that was rebuilt but it was left out out side for a long time. Swapped it in my car hoping it would start. Basically all i get is cranking not even a single sound of ignition. i checked all my spark plug wires and they all are sparking. New oil, new coolant, new spark plugs, new transmission fluid new air filter, and new vacuum lines! I tried to diagnose it, my maf sensor at crank seems to open only slightly. could that be a problem? any help would be appreciated!

I blew my main engine fuse (cockpit fuse) and tried starting it, and flooded it. Then I found out I blew the fuse, replaced it, and didn't know I flooded it, so I thought something else was wrong. Started right up after I remembered I had an engine prone to flooding. Try it if you haven't. Sometimes the most complicated things are the simplest.

On the path of the simplest things sometimes elude us....
Make sure your MAF is connected or it will not start.
Your sig shows several cars, is the 90 project car the one you are having problems with?
If it is hold the gas peddle to the floor, crank for 10 seconds, pause for 10 sec, repeat. It should become obvious when to release the peddle. S5 cars cut fuel when the peddle is floored during startup.

A fuel pressure test would be helpful in diagnosing your problem. The FPR might be problematic. Pressure should be 80 psi when the gauge is dead headed to the hose coming from the fuel pump and a bit above 30 psi when teed into the fuel line after the filter and before the engine.

That is your Problem.
align the Main pulley onto it's mark, then See where the CAS is,in reference to the Main pulley.
The CAS has to be taken OUT to see the Mark on the Bottom of it,as it has a Dimple on the Gear.
Pull the CAS Out,align the dimple to the Mark on the CAS's shaft casing and then Put the CAS in..Carefully,as to not allow the Inner workings of the Cas to Move while you Stab it back in the Front cover hole.
Once that is done, the engine should be Fairly IN Time so it can start.
