engine start

is there a way to start the engine without the ignition? And no I'm not trying to rip off a car, lol. Someone said I could plug jumper cables from my beater to the rx7's starter is this true? Is there an easier way? Where is the starter? Thanks!!

I donno any of that stuff but I can tell you that your starter is pretty deep under your car right where you engine ends and your tranny starts. Its just like a little bit past your wheels. To push start a car, does the key have to be in the on position?
