89 with 88 Block and rotors - How to make buzzer go off at 7K

Ok, so I don't really need the buzzer, its good to have if you forget what the hell you're doing and need to shift.

I have a 89 GTU, with 88 Block and rotors, therefor my redline is now 7K not 8K... Is there any way to make the buzzer go off around the 7K band?

If soldering is involved, it really isnt a big deal, Im pretty nifty with an iron, and have a OK knowledge of electronics, but I wouldnt know where to start.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Find and install a gauge cluster from an 89-91 automatic. They have the 7k redline, not for the engine, but for the auto tranny's benefit.

Wouldn't that just change the look of it and not the buzzer?

How do you figure? Im not talking about the gauge faces, Im talking about the entire cluster. The cluster is set up for a 7k redline, so what, you're saying that the buzzer would still go off at 8 for some reason? The auto cars have the redline and buzzer at 7k. Install the entire cluster and you get that one instead of 8k.

That's a damn good idea, is there any other problems I could run into? Are all the wiring the same? How hard to do myself? How much?

Thanks Kevin,

Jonathan

Found one, from a GXL... auto, that will still work right? He wants 25 bucks for it, OK deal? It's nowhere near what I was expecting... I was expecting like 100+

Redline at 7K...

Only missing the front clear plastic, but I should be able to just use the plastic from my existing gauge right?

thanks a million guys,
Jonathan
