engine sounds wierd .... bad wierd

i'm not sure what this sound is. i've been hearing it since i got the car. i was checking my tps and i noticed that the engine only makes the wierd noise when both the lights are on. if one is on it doesnt make it if the other is on then it doesnt do it either just when they both are. its coming from the left hand side of the engine bay. anyone know what it could be? god i hope its not serious! Uh, it sounds like something is vibrating like crazy somewhere in the intake tubing. Take apart the airbox, afm, intake duct, etc... and start looking for anything that can move around.

Air relief, you don't have the lil silencer on it and it's not connected to the rest of the piping that goes to the bottom of the passenger bumper.

you bump your thread alil too much., thats the sound of air, i dont see how thats very alarming, if your car is making a bad sound it'll normally not run "decent", your engine sounds fine

Ok, so if it is just air vented from the ACV, and you don't have the silencer hooked up, then I've still got to say that's VERY loud. I've had the silencer disconnected with 2 different air pumps, and it was never anywhere near that noticeable.

It might be worth it to pull the air pump and check that it rotates smoothly. I've had one break internally and throw pieces of itself into the ACV inlet. It still spun, but it was noisy. If it's fine, then you just managed to get the loudest one around .

I had that exact sound, when you are right there revving it up it sounds alot more deadly to the engine.

I changed my coolent first time, had the silencer off and all. I went to burp the air out, I was so scared of the sound it made......
